Butter Spreading

Spreading butter on toast is not as easy as it sounds if you're using refrigerated butter. The key is to use the heat from the toast to melt the butter. So, if you dilly-dally in putting the butter on, the heat will have dissipated, and the butter will not be malleable enough to spread. However, if you put the butter on quick enough, but wait too long, it will have mostly melted in one spot, leaving the rest of the toast dry and butter free. I succeeded this morning in buttering my toast, but buttering failure is always lurking.
