Thou Mayest

In what has become a mild and benign obsession of sorts, I've been seeking out everything I can related to Mumford & Sons. Now I'm peeved that they have moved from a cult favorite to a "cool" band to be a fan of, even though I would never claim to have become a fan on the ground floor; I too jumped on the bandwagon, just a wee bit earlier than the current masses. But I digress.

While I impatiently wait to see them in concert (they bring the same sort of passion and joy to a show as Frightened Rabbit, who puts on a fantastically wondrous show), I've been watching videos upon videos. I stumbled across this one. Their ability to command the stage with only themselves and two instruments is a huge reason of what makes them great.

Being the rabbit trail lover that I am, my curiosity brought me to this fascinating bit of Steinback's East of Eden. I've never read Steinback and likely never will, seeing as how I started Atlas Shrugged over a year ago, absolutely loved the first 100 pages or so, and am still stuck at that point. Oh, a movie is being made about it. Something about Dagny's brutal honesty and flippant, yet dogged determination makes her irresistible in spite of her moral flexibilities. The movie will likely disappoint, but as the great Jim Gaffigan once said in response to those who always denigrated the movie adaptation of the book, "You know what I like about movies? No reading!"

p.s. I counted four rabbit trails in this post.
