Movies first hit my radar when I watch the trailer through iTunes. I attempt to watch all trailers, but often foreign films, especially bollywood, obvious chick flicks, and films aimed at the African-American community get passed over. This one caught my eye for being visually stunning, as well as for the unique trailer. The actual movie however, flopped. I know it won awards and all that jazz, but it tried too hard. It wanted to be deep, progressive, artsy, and refined, but ended up being opaque, stilted, and banal. There was no compelling reason to keep watching, no character to really care about. Watching Recommendation: Watch when attempting to impress an extremely sophisticated and arrogant individual whom you despise.
