Blockbuster Trade

Today the Yankees, Tigers, and Diamondbacks completed a blockbuster three team trade. The Yankees will receive OF Curtis Granderson (DET); the Tigers will receive SP Max Scherzer (ARI), RP Phil Coke (NYY), RP Daniel Schlereth (ARI), and OF Austin Jackson (NYY); the Diamondbacks will receive SP Edwin Jackson (DET) and SP Ian Kennedy (NYY). Here is my analysis of the trade:

Player, Years Under Team Control, Projected Total WAR, Projected Total Value
Curtis Granderson, 4, 21, 64.4
TOTAL: 4, 21, 64.4

Max Scherzer, 5, 17, 61.5
Phil Coke, 5, 5, 5.5
Daniel Schlereth, 5, 5, 9.5
Austin Jackson, 6, 13.5, 43.2
TOTAL: 21, 40.5, 119.7

Edwin Jackson, 3, 10.5, 29.5
Ian Kennedy, 5, 7.5, 16.8
TOTAL: 8, 18, 46.3

Yankees gave up: 16, 26, 65.5
Tigers gave up: 7, 31.5, 93.9
Diamondbacks gave up: 10, 22, 71

Differences between what the teams gave up and what they received in value:
Yankees: -1.1 million
Tigers: +25.8 million
Diamondbacks: -24.7 million

It looks like the Diamondbacks are the big losers, while the Tigers are the big winners. However, this is a move for the future for the Tigers and a move for now for the Yankees (as usual). This could even out a bit more if Kennedy and Jackson take to the NL the way most pitchers do.
