Tiger Woods reaction thread

11:01 very, very somber tone

11:04 he's definitely looking older, I imagine the last few months have caused some of the "president effect."

11:05 wow, he really paused to let that apology sink in

power through anger right there, but of course he has to stand up for Elin

11:07 "I felt I was entitled" "i don't get to play by different rules"

telling words, this has to be unbelievably difficult for him

11:08 "it's not what you achieve in life, it's what you overcome"

11:12 "starting tomorrow, I will leave for more treatment and more therapy"

11:15 done, 13 minutes, 32 seconds.

Not really anything that we didn't expect. Pretty standard, rehearsed, and robotic. He was very contrite. He'll keep his private life as secret as he can, and we still have no idea when he'll be back to golf. He showed some fire when talking about Elin and allegations that were made by the media. He was not wearing a wedding ring. I think he said everything he needed to say, everything he should have. He took ownership for himself as a role model to so many, especially kids around the world.

On a side note, it's too bad he likely won't be back for the Masters at Augusta, and perhaps not for the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, both courses he has dominated.

Not quite Tiger level, but closer than before.

My golf game has taken a huge step forward for a three main reasons:

1. I'm playing more, around a 100 holes this month.

2. I fixed my backswing, I used to take it back inside, now it's straight, resulting in straighter shots. Plus, my misses are now to the right instead of the left, which means less loss of distance and less penal.

3. Most importantly, I am trying to do less. Take one club more and control trajectory and backswing; aim at the center of the green, etc.

I've played my last 99 holes in only 16 over par. I've played my last 36 in 3 over par. I'm hitting more greens. Boy, this is fun!

Websites

Brooks Baseball

Takes the pitch data from MLB gameday's pitch f/x machines, and gives you data plots, charts, tables, etc. Extremely informative for measuring everything about a pitcher.

Stracka

Online golf scorecard and handicap tracker. Pretty simple, but can give great data. I guess I score better on par 5's when I drive it in the rough compared to the fairway. Figure that one out. I am currently playing to a 9.4 handicap.

DarkRoastedBlend

Aggregator for links. Great for perusing and finding crazy, informative, and mind-bending stuff.

Sugar Stacks

Shows how much sugar is in the stuff we consume. Not for the sweet tooth.

TED

One os the best websites I have found. TED is a conference that provides a forum for the innovators and great minds of our time to articulate their ideas for the future. There is something for everybody here.

This Is Why You're Fat

The most outrageous, disgusting, delicious, and fattening foods imaginable.

Fangraphs

I'll just throw this one on here because it's my favorite place to go for baseball sabermetric analysis, fantasy analysis, innovative stats, and more.
